SUMMARY:Swim Tryouts
DESCRIPTION:Tryouts begin August 21st 8-10:30am for swimmers; 10:15-12:15pm for divers. We consider the first three days tryouts. These days are basic workouts\, but we evaluate all members to ensure they can participate. For swimmers that means being able to swim all four strokes\, execute legal turns during workouts\, dive off the starting blocks\, and keep up with the pace of their lane for the workout. We are a very competitive varsity sport and unfortunately there is only so much space in the pool. These guidelines for our tryouts are also to ensure the safety of all those in the pool.

DESCRIPTION:With the season fast approaching\, we’ve started working on fundraiser ideas. \nOur first events are going to be two fun nights at the pool (July 29 and August 5\, 5:00-8:00 PM). The idea is like a big babysitting gig\, either giving parents a couple hours off or to let families spend some time swimming together. There will be games\, both in and out of the pool\, as well as some food and drinks. Attached below is the flyer for the event as well as a waiver that must be signed before swimming. Because the first date is so soon\, we really need help getting the word out and publicizing the event. \nFor the event we need some of the swimmers to help out. We need a couple lifeguards\, in and out of pool supervisors\, and some people to manage the sign in-sign out tables. There’s a spreadsheet attached for sign ups. \nParents\, it would be really helpful if you shared the flyer with your various Facebook\, WhatsApp\, and WeChat groups to help us publicize this since our main audience is younger kids. Here’s a small blurb to include with the flyer: The AB Swim and Dive Team is hosting fun nights! Feel free to drop your kids off or swim with them at the ABRHS pool for a couple hours of fun in the water July 29 and August 5 from 5:00-8:00 PM. There will be in and out of water activities\, food\, and drinks.
